Jim and his team have been amazing to work with. When we moved into our home, which had been neglected for over 15 years, we ran into a lot of unexpected issues. Jim has been a lifesaver at every step.

In the summer, our air conditioner stopped working just a couple of months after we moved in. Jim quickly identified the problem and repaired it on the spot. He also found a significant mold issue in our air handler and recommended cleaning it and installing UV lights to help prevent future problems. His expertise and attention to detail were invaluable.

When winter arrived, our boiler worked, but the radiators were not heating properly. Jim methodically worked through the entire system, even getting into tough-to-reach areas, and made sure everything was functioning as it should. He stood out for his patience, helpfulness, and ability to clearly explain what was going on.

Later, when our boiler's control panel failed, Jim provided a temporary solution to keep everything running while he sourced the parts for a full repair. He made sure we were never left without heat, even during a busy season when so many others needed help.

Over the years, I have worked with many service professionals due to the challenges of maintaining this home, and Jim has been the absolute best. Even during his busiest times, he remains efficient, responsive, and focused on finding solutions. I am incredibly grateful to have found Jim and his team.

I was introduced to A&WS several years ago by my home warranty company. They have made several repairs on my HVAC systems plus some non-warranty items like installing zone dampers and new wifi thermostats. Most recent interaction in mid-January 2025 during the cold spell when we lost heat from our gas furnace. Jim/Jose and Tony did an excellent job getting us going again even though it took several visits while working through the complexities of dealing with a home warranty company. We have been working with A&WS for over 2 years and Jim and his team are the BEST! They understand the urgency behind fixing a broken furnace and they always show up on the same day I call!

Last Friday my 35y furnace stopped working and Jim and his son came the same day and diagnosed a broken pump. Next day, they drove to Hartford to get the pump since the model was not found in the New Haven area. That same day, the new pump was installed, my house was nice and warm and our stress (we have small children) was gone.

I have been assigned to other providers by AHS but I always request to be changed to A&WS. They are experts and constantly communicate updates to their clients. As I said to Jim, "they have a job that brings relief to families and homes."

Jim is great! We connected with his company through our home security company. My AC was not working and despite being a holiday, he showed up on July 4th! First, he took the time to explain and walk us through the process. Second, he quickly diagnosed the problem and solved it. Third, he checked our second unit to make sure all was fine. Importantly, the problem was previously diagnosed by another company but they were asking twice the price that Jim gave us (installation included). Throughout the process we communicated seamlessly through text. Will continue working with them from now on! Thanks Jim!

Air and water solutions is assigned to us by our home warranty company. Daisha fit me in earlier than scheduled because our AC wasn’t working in a heat wave. Daisha was extremely professional when I spoke to her on the phone and assured me a tech would be out the next morning. The tech (Victor) arrived on time and quickly diagnosed the problem and did the repair on the spot. He was professional and thorough. A&WS really came through and I am very appreciative that they were able to complete the job in a timely manner.

We had a persistent issue with a malfunctioning air handler. After a
third re-call in three weeks, the home warranty company dispatched Air and Water Solutions, of Shelton, CT, to make the repair that two other local HVAC were unable to fix, one even made the problem worse. Jim Hamel, the owner, quickly diagnosed the issue, then made the repair. While working on the unit, Jim was nice enough to tell me what was wrong and what he was doing to repair it. He also showed me some additional maintenance I could do to keep the aged unit running better. They will be my first choice going forward.
