I had ordered tires and had to miss my appointment as I hurt my knee. Rich called me and said he'd pick the car up and return it the next day. How many businesses will go our of their way to accommodate someone like that.

Disclaimer: I have not brought my car here for fixing. August 6th was the first time I've ever heard of Sommerville, Connecticut and the first time I've heard of Colonial Tire and Brake Center. I brought my friend there who was picking up his minivan for a trip to New York, Pennsylvania and Virginia. We brought him there and I asked on the way, "dude, since you live in Wilbraham, why don't you choose a closer place than this place. It's somewhat inconvenient." He responded with a very interesting set of facts that I take as gospel truth. He said, "My wife and her family has been going to this guy for years, YEARS." That means my friends have found one of the most important things in life: a trusted car mechanic. Way to go! I immediately told him about my difficulty in life in finding a trusted car mechanic. We had one only a walk from our house till he up and disappeared a couple years ago. No clue why. My good friend also told me that all the online reviews for this place are all 5 stars! Well, here's another one based not on an actual experience there, but on a trusted friend. The age old economic truth holds fast with this place. With so many car mechanic choices out there, nobody wants their customers to die. That directly and negatively impacts their business. If my friend trusts the owner of Colonial tire and brake center for tuning up his car, I can too. I just have to call next time I need him and become a customer.

Had a great experience here with Rich got all new tires, rear brakes, and a couple wheel bearings done here for a very reasonable price I will be coming here for any future vehicle needs. Very honest people!

I’m not so sure about this shop… they work closely with a car dealership in Hampden MA that has pushed my grandmother into overpaying for a rusty car that they found to be “suitable” despite completely overlooking things like the torque converter shutter, and my fiancé into a Corolla that has developed control arm bushing failure during the warranty period that the dealership refuses to correct. Not to mention a water leak and a rear windshield failure (completely shattered while driving to the gas station) that wasn’t covered under warranty after a couple months of ownership. I’m just not convinced that this shop, or the dealership they work with has your best interest at heart.

Beyond 5 stars! Once I knew my car could safely make the trip, I drove an hour and forty five minutes each way to get the work done at Colonial Tire because I always know that Rich and the Colonial folk will take care of me and my car better than anywhere else I have ever gone. Integrity, trustworthiness, efficiency, expertise, fair pricing, genuinely pleasant interaction with all personnel, with none of the pressure to do more than is called for— where can you find that all in one place these days? TOTALLY worth the trip! So blessed to have Rich in my corner.

Rich and team are amazing! He is fair, reasonable, and thorough. He takes his time to explain the issue and make recommendations. I never feel as if I'm being pressured or am being given advice that's not necessary. I am so grateful to live just up the road from a trusted and honest mechanic. Rich and his staff are amazing guys. He's been our family mechanic for year and I refuse to go anywhere else. Fair and honest pricing. Never would tell you something just to get more money out of you. Nicest guy ever. Always there to give the car a look at, even for the little stuff. Great guy, employees, and company. Went in for an oil change and alignment Rich did an amazing job office staff is very helpful and friendly prices are very fair. They even washed my car! 10/10 would recommend if your looking for a trustworthy place this is it!
