Don't Let a Fresh Coat of Paint Fool You!

In addition to paying one of the highest rental rates in the area ($1,000 per month), expect to pay for everything ... gas heat, electricity, and water. And with original windows and appliances dating back 30 Plus years, it ain't cheap to live here!
Move in here and forget about your Security deposit. The property manager (PM) will systematically deduct until there is nothing left and she hands you a bill!
Anything that breaks is your fault and you will be charged for it. For instance, peeling wallpaper in the tiny bathroom or a small tear in a window shade will certainly be deducted.
Safety – cars broken into/vandalized regularly. Management does nothing to resolve the issue. They actually tries to blame the tenants for not locking their cars--how about the motorcycles that have been taken! How about installing proper lighting in the parking lot? Nope!
Mold and constant water in basements.
Repairs go unresolved for months on end
There are multiple issues with the property manager (PM).
- unstable and interferes in all tenant’s personal business
- is a gossip and shares private tenant file information
- very quickly you will learn who has got rental assistance, HUD Section 8 and weatherization
- high turnover due to property manager’s unpredictable behavior, unreasonable demands and ridiculous charges.
Tenants avoid PM at all costs because
- PM uses her position as a counseling couch and unloads all of her personal life onto anyone who will listen, I mean anyone, even the postal worker, UPS guy, etc. Most tenants choose to call after the office closes and leave a message.
- PM inspects your apt and will write you up for things such as housecleaning.
When appliances are replaced (rarely ) they are the cheapest appliances.
Maintenance guy is a good soul and tries his best, but the PM often interferes with anything getting done in a timely manner or refuses to approve minor costs for repairs. PM loves an audience and will routinely scream at him in public in front of countless people. Extremely unprofessional. She will often go off on residents like they are a small misbehaving child. *No one is immune to her wrath, male, female, big or small young or old. PM believes she is above them all. Has been known to call town officials in an attempt to correct them!
Can’t hang anything in kitchen or bathroom due to wallpaper
Air ducts have NEVER been cleaned
People in the apt community regularly go through dumpster
I would highly recommend visiting the property and talking with tenants.
Many tenants have complained in writing and over the phone to Residential Management (owners) about the PM, but money talks. As long as she keeps the place filled and is earning them money her job is secure, no matter how high the turnover and the volumes of complaints.
People in town think this community is state owned public housing. That should tell you something about its perception!
