An absolute beautiful place, wonderful cabins, and the lake is very peaceful and scenic. The cabin we had was clean, well equipped with the basics, and the boat performed well for our ffishing adventure's. The staff was kind, and helpful for anything we needed.

Good bunkhouse with decent beds. A fireplace outside would have been nice. Paid with cash and still got charged the credit card price so beware they will atomically charge you the extra fee for a credit card.

Beautiful resort with incredible views! We stayed in the Spruce cabin. It was a great cabin and very clean. The beds were comfortable and the whirlpool tub was wonderful. We are a family of 5 (3 teenage boys) and a lab, and the cabin fit us well, however, next time we might try one of the larger cabins. We loved the gorgeous sunsets and watching the loons swim by our dock. Can't wait to go back!

Our family of 4 had a wonderful time at Fenske Lake Resort Cabins!!! What sets Fenske apart is the privacy each cabin provides. We had our own dock, canoe and boat. We could enjoy the amazing lake without feeling crowded. Fenske Lake is a quiet lake on the edge of the wilderness and did not disappoint. Good fishing, swimming, a sauna, Loon's, Geese, Deer and Eagles. Spruce Cabin was clean and just the perfect place for our week. Ely is about a 15 minute drive away and we enjoyed the International Wolf Center, The Bear Center and Dorothy Molter Museum on our rainy days. For a little longer ride, we also ventured to Sudan Underground Mine. We also enjoyed several hikes recommended by the owners Chris and Laurie. If a quiet place on the edge of the Boundary Waters is what you seek, book your cabin NOW!!!

The cabin was great!! If was perfect for our pre wedding week looking right at our wedding site. We enjoyed the sauna a few times which was awesome!! We portaged to the Sletten lakes and enjoyed a great lunch on a wonderful rock outcropping. Our hosts were very courteous. We can't wait to return. ❤️FenskeLake

We rented the Rock Ledge cabin for the first week in June and had a fabulous time! As parents vacationing with our adult kids, spouses and a baby, toddler and preschooler, we could not have asked for a better open layout in the cabin for our family times together. It was clean, bright and beautiful with a private larger outside yard area down to the secluded dock, yet very close to the sandy beach area for our little ones to play with sand toys. We enjoyed lots of canoeing, fishing (fish not biting our week though), bonfires, the sauna followed by jumping in the lake, grilling, games in the cabin, and a fabulous hike on the Bass Lake Trail. We have a long history of going to the BWCA; canoeing, camping and portaging in the wilderness, and loved doing the wilderness experience with the kids. But we would have to say that Fenske Lake had the natural and secluded beauty and undeveloped rocky shores we loved, even though now with grandchildren we found the amenities of the cabin week a wonderful solution to the best of both worlds! Our hosts were very friendly and great to work with. I would highly recommend Fenske Lake Cabins!

Our 6th year at Fenske Lake Cabins and it just gets better. It’s so beautiful and peaceful. The Eilrichs couldn’t be nicer or more helpful, such a lovely family. The cabins are beautiful and they’re nestled in forest, separated from each other so everything is very private. There’s good walking around the resort and the woods are beautiful. A great place to be a photographer!

Dream Northwoods cabin rental. We just returned from a week at Fenske Lake Resort Cabins and could not have been more pleased with our choice. This small resort offers clean, private, renovated cabins on a quiet lake. They offer all kinds of conveniences, such as a shuttle service to Boundary Waters wilderness area for canoeing day trips and they also do daily runs into town where they will pick up any supplies you need. The cabin we stayed at was majorly refurbished from the studs out in 2020 - important that they are still investing and improving in the property each year. The location was ideal: "close enough" to Ely (shopping, groceries, gas, etc.) yet right at the edge of the pristine Boundary Waters. We found plenty to do between paddling, hiking, biking and swimming in the lake, and the hosts were exceptionally responsive at providing guidance on area activities.
