Furnace stopped working sometime overnight. Promptly called Fox Heating and within a few hours an extremely knowledgeable and friendly technician was here to fix the problem.

Fox responded quickly and professionally to a leak we had in our furnace pipe. Showed up right in the timeframe stated and the service technician was polite and thoroughly explained what he needed to do and how long it would take. The job was done in a quality manner.

They've been stringing us along for over a month now buying parts to fix an AC unit because the circuit board needed to be fixed.
Why didn't they see which parts they were going to need for the circuit board when they first found the problem, then ordered all of them when they were also ordering the circuit board? Would this practice not cut down on costs for Fox Heating as well? From the outside looking in it makes no sense to extend the repair time, but I'm also not an HVAC Technician. So it's entirely possible that I see things very differently.

The room that contains the broken AC catches a large portion of the heat in our home. At the time of writing (9/7/23), there is a heat advisory in effect for the state of Connecticut. The room can get to over 95F if we aren't using a fan to blow cold air into it from the other rooms in the house.
The room currently doesn't feel safe to use due to the heat, and ultimately due to Fox Heating's negligence.

On a brighter note, I'll say that whenever an appointment does get made, Fox Heating always gives us a call prior to showing up. They've never not shown up to a repair, and they've always given me a decent amount of information on what the problem was. There were a few times when I was told I'd be getting a call with more information but I ended up having to reach out. However I'm not going to knock points simply for Fox Heating being a busy company. I just can't recommend them currently.

I date from the time when the owner was doing much of the work and have found that he was efficient and competent. Apparently, he has hired and trained people who have similar qualities. They came with enough expensive parts and tools in their trucks to repair whatever was wrong with my system. Yes, there is a high hourly rate but I appreciate all that Fox was able to do for me.

At 4 PM, one day last week, I discovered water from our hydronic heating system raining down onto our fuel oil tank in the garage/basement . I was able to shut off the water and at my request, Fox sent out a technician who was able to help me be sure that the system would be safe for the night. The technician and I decided that I would rather have the system repaired the next day at $100 + per hour rather than tackle the job right then, on overtime, at twice that rate. The next day Fox sent several technicians who diagnosed and repaired the frozen, ruptured pipe very quickly.

I used fox for about 4 years before becoming fed up with the poor service. I do not recommend them to anyone, in fact I actively tell people to avoid using them.
They’ve told me to keep the furnace off in the winter until they can come see what the problem is. The tech walks in, hits the reset button and says he sees no issues. Well duh! I could have hit the reset button and spared myself from feeling chilly for 6hrs. I’ve also had them tell me they need parts to complete a job and then not hear from them for 3 months.
The cost of the annual furnace cleaning also went up multiple times. When they are scheduled, they do not show up in a timely manner.
If you need a furnace company, call amr out of Munson. They fixed my constant furnace issue that fox just kept scheduling multiple service calls for (this added up after 3+ service calls).

I've been using Fox heating for at least 25 years if not more. And they do an excellent job. The owner is very knowledgeable and does a complete job, not just winging it he does the paperwork and thinks his way through every job. I highly recommend them car heating services gamma air conditioning and ductless splits. You will not be sorry!

This company went. WAY above and beyond in replacement boiler - Very professional staff and friendly. Work was done quickly and efficiently in the middle of winter! I would recommend Fox Heating for any furnace issues. I especially valued their honesty. I’m looking forward to working with them again to install central air in the spring!
