The pictures say it all. Have been complaining to the HOA about this company not properly maintaining the HOA lot next to my home in Legacy since 2019. I most recently made a complaint two weeks ago and this is what I come home to today.

Any consideration I may have had about using Hooglands went down the garbage disposal this morning. I was driving I-220 West Bound when one of their drivers towing an enclosed trailer pulled up beside me and began quickly merging into my lane with no blinker, no checking their blind spots. Despite me blowing my horn repeatedly, they finished merging AND hit the brakes, ultimately running me off the interstate. Once I got back on the road, the driver made angry gestures at me, kept punching the brakes, and would not allow me to change lanes. Caused me to miss my exit and be late to work. Spoke to manager Chris, who apologized for the incident and stated he would check the GPS report to counsel the driver. I dont know if anything actually happened after I hung up, but based off the owner's responses to other valid complaints, I doubt anything will be done about this reckless driver. If so, I can't imagine that the quality of their landscaping services would be worth the trouble. Occurred just before Exit 1C on 220 West at approximately 8 AM on Wednesday, 9/20/2023.

I recently had an unexpected encounter with a landscaping crew from Hoogland's, and while it was unfortunate that my mailbox became a casualty, I must commend them for their outstanding professionalism and exceptional customer service in handling the situation.

First and foremost, let me emphasize that I have not personally used their landscaping services. However, the way they handled the accident that occurred on my property speaks volumes about the company's commitment to its customers.

When the accident happened, I was worried about the potential hassle of dealing with the aftermath and trying to resolve the issue with the company. But much to my surprise, my concerns were entirely unfounded. They immediately took responsibility and offered their sincere apologies.

Huge shout to Myles Cavazos for bearing not only an apology but also a well-thought-out plan to rectify the damage. Myles and the gentlemen who were in the truck were polite, understanding, and empathetic throughout the entire interaction, making me feel valued as a customer despite never having availed their landscaping services before.

They had a temporary mailbox in my front yard the very day the accident occurred and immediately began looking for the HOA approved mailbox ($$$) that was required. Not only did they restore it to its original condition, but they also went the extra mile by reinforcing it to prevent similar incidents in the future. The crew members were courteous and considerate, ensuring that their work did not disturb my daily routine any more than necessary.

What impressed me most was how efficiently Myles & Hoogland's handled the entire situation. They took responsibility for their mistake without any hesitations, and their quick response demonstrated a genuine commitment to ensuring customer satisfaction.

Even though I cannot speak to the quality of their regular landscaping services, based on my experience with the company, I have no doubt that they uphold the same level of professionalism in all aspects of their work.

In conclusion, I highly recommend Hoogland's Landscaping based on their exceptional customer service and the way they handled an unfortunate accident with my mailbox. Despite the mishap, they turned a negative situation into a positive one, leaving me thoroughly impressed. If their landscaping services are half as good as their customer service, I have no doubt that they are a top-notch company. Five stars without a doubt!

Thank you, Myles and Hoogland's!

Supervisor did not supervise work. He was never on site and hard to reach which led to concrete being poured incorrectly. The customer should not have to supervise a proffesional company. String lines were not used, grade and level of soil was not checked properly, my concrete steps dont line up with my front door(not way off but noticeably wrong) concrete landing was not what was discussed( too short), soil was not compacted and sink holes had to be fixed, work order items were wrong on bill showing 20 steps were poured when only 13 were poured and PVC pipe was shown but never used(they have no idea what thier workers do). Sod at the bottom of the pallet was nearly dead when they finally finished and I've barely been able to keep it alive. Predicted time frame of work was way overextended due to so many issues, quality of work was poor, attention to detail was poor, multiple phone calls had to be made to correct issues. I was only able to reach the owner by going through the main office. Company never notified of arrival on property or when they finished the job. I received a bill with no phone contact made to inform me they were done(professional thing to do is talk with your customer and see if they are ok with the work). There was no walk around with the supervisor to see if everything was what was expected before payment. I had to walk around the yard picking up concrete chunks that would destroy my mower blades if i hadnt. There is a concrete capstone that just fell off the retaining wall and i dont even want them to fix it(I would rather do it at this point). I told the owner I knew them redoing the steps wouldnt allow for them to make any money on the job. I decided to just live with the results which is MUCH more than fair, but disappointing. The end results are functional but the process to get there is unacceptable. Seems like if you are a residential homeowner with a job only around 10k then they don't really care about what quality work you get. Their only attention is on the big jobs shown in the website pictures. I'm glad to have written the check just to make sure I don't have to deal with this company again. I won't recommend. Terrible experience!

Don't know anything about their work because they charge $300 just to come out and tell you whether or not they can. $1500 Minimum. Ridiculous.

In response to the owner. Thank you for your reply, but unless your policies have changed in a year, yes, I was quoted 300 to come look at the job whether I chose to continue or not. The minimum is not all that uncommon, but people should know that ahead of time. Also, if you dont charge to come bid a job currently, that is great. Seemed weird at the time to me as well.

I spent over 26,000 with them to put in a patio and sod my yard. Very disappointed that they put down dead grass and didn’t stand by the work and replace it. What’s sad it wont have been more then a quarter pallet of sod. Never made it right. I have a lot more work to do but it won’t be them!

UPDATE: I emailed them about this issue last night and they came back today and corrected the problem. I appreciate them responding so quickly and making it right

Our project started on May 18, 2020 and as of today, June 25, 2020, the job is still not complete. We have been waiting on 3 plants to come in but apparently they can't get those plants so they asked if we would mind switching to a different plant. We agreed and I told them exactly what I wanted and even included a sketch. They showed up today and planted them in the wrong place. Now I have to contact them again and wait for them to come back out to dig up and replant in the right spot. For the amount of money that we paid, I am very disappointed. I told them at the beginning of this project that we were going to have them come back out in the fall to do our patio with outdoor kitchen but after this experience I will have to find someone else for that job.

After I read the review and response from the owner about not charging $300 for estimate I decided to call to get estimate. Right off the bat I was told there would be a $300 charge for an estimate. I asked to clarify, so for someone just to come out to my house and see the property and give me an estimate it will cost $300, and I was told yes $300 for an estimate. Confirmed $300 for estimate.
