Nutmeg was recommended to me by a neighbor when I moved into my condo recently and needed work done on my air conditioner, etc. The first repair person who came out was very thorough and told me about my unit and the issues regarding its age and what could come up in the future. She was informative but not pushy about telling me that I needed to replace it immediately. When I had the next person come out to do maintenance on the heater part, he told me that my unit was 40 years old! That's 20 years older than it should be for gas. He took lots of time to actually show me what was failing on it, then took the time to call someone about replacement parts. His recommendation was to replace it altogether. My research confirmed this, too. The sales rep Leo came out to look at the old unit and my condo to get an idea of quotes for me. He's a very friendly and knowledgeable guy. It did take a bit to get back to me, but eventually, I was given a couple of options for a Carrier gas heater ( 1 or 2 stage). The distributor even gave a discount. Biting the bullet, I decided on the 2 stage, which I hope saves money and energy in the long run. Once I signed the contract, I was very quickly set up for installation. Rob, Josh, and Peter were here early and had no issues with removing the old one, then putting the new one in. They were polite, careful, and very nice to work with. Rob explained everything and made sure that I understood the new system. They cleaned up afterward, too. I would recommend this company to anyone who needs this kind of service. Nutmeg Mechanical has provided truly exceptional service from start to finish--and beyond. I had been wanting to switch to heat pumps for several years, and Chris made me feel confident about finally going through with it. He walked through several possible solutions and was supportive of whichever fit my needs the best. Throughout this process, I needed to also upgrade my electrical panel and needed to do update the wiring to my house, and he worked with an electrician to build this into the process smoothly.
Chris also very promptly answers any questions or concerns, which has also made what could have been a very stressful experience into one where I felt and still feel confident and positive. I had gotten quotes from a few companies, and Chris from Nutmeg Mechanical provided the best solutions and confidence in workmanship and pricing. I am very happy with the decision, and I would highly recommend this business to others.

Nutmeg Mechanical installed a replacement AC system using four “splits” for our house. They were simply wonderful to work with. From my first call to the office when their receptionist was so friendly and helpful starting this project, to my main contact, Leo, who worked closely with me and designed and revised the project so that it exactly fitted our needs and was based on quite careful heat gain/loss calculations to properly size the equipment. The installation crew was flexible about the installation timing, and were all personable, hard-working individuals who answered all my questions and efficiently installed the system. At the end of each day, they left the work areas cleaned up and safe.
Overall, Nutmeg was a terrific company to work with— throughout the project, they were knowledgeable, trustworthy, and competent workers.
I would absolutely use them again if I had a big project like this.

I had an absolute great experience working with Nutmeg Mechanical to address my heating and cooling needs . I needed to replace our primary furnace and condenser. Leo Marinak ( the sales specialist I worked with) Was fantastic at assessing my current heating and cooling needs he did a detailed analysis of my rooms to confirm the appropriate capacity units. He was very addressable to make sure I got what I needed. The installation was seamless.. there were a few issues after the install, but Leo address them immediately . Peter came out the following day and took care of everything explained how the heating works. He Helped me program the thermostat and made sure I was happy with both heating and cooling before he had left. They are a great team and worked well together to get the job done. Very professional staff and I highly recommend them to anyone Who has heating and cooling needs.

Everyone at Nutmeg was incredibly helpful from start to finish. We replaced our AC and Shane took the time to explain the pros/cons of doing a heat pump at the same time, what the differences were in the available units, as well as to answer a long list of questions that we had. The installation team was likewise very courteous, clean, and efficient. The job was possibly going to take a week and was done in 3 days. The team went over the new system in detail and helped us set up the new thermostats on our phones. I would certainly use them again.
