I left Rich a message and he got back to me shortly… And unfortunately, he was not able to assist me in my situation. I was looking for a replacement ignition key for my newer model pick up truck. A few years ago, I bought a high security cylinder & ket set, with special blanks and controlled key duplication. Then I moved to CT, but kept the property in Brooklyn where it was used. And lost one of my two keys. Turns out that the manufacturer has moved on to other key designs, and finding a locksmith that carried the brand and had the older blanks available was not so easy.
I left messages with a few places that were listed as authorized dealers on the manufacturer's website, including Rich's Keys & Locks.
I got a pretty quick call back from Wes, a man who seems to both know and care about helping people out who get themselves into a variety of jams. Wes was not only helpful and considerate, but after determining that he didn't have the older blanks in stock either, ordered inventory from the manufacturer. I ended up with three new copies, but he ordered 10 blanks, which when I stopped to think about it is probably the minimum reorder quantity. But I had to guess about that, because he didn't offer an explanation as to why he had ordered the suspiciously round number of 10, nor did he ask for more than the usual per copy price to cover his extra cost for items he is not likely to run into demand for anytime soon, if ever. So I'm not sure he broke even on the transaction. The point being, he's a mensch, who approaches his work prioritizing solving people's problems with unspoken honor, over maximizing his own advantage in pursuit of profit above all else. Wherever I encounter that, I'm a customer for life because you can't buy integrity. It has to already be there.

I had the most wonderful experience with Rich’s Keys and Locks this morning. I was in a real bind, and Wes and Devyn came right over to help me, as they happened to be in the area.

They were polite, friendly, and professional. As Wes worked, Devyn had a vacuum out to clean up any shavings. They solved my problem quickly and efficiently, even though it was a last minute emergency call. And the price was super reasonable.

Highly recommend! Terrific service, and great people. And I love seeing someone showing a young man the ropes in trade skills.

Lucky to have found Rich's Keys and Locks after a couple unpleasant experiences with area locksmiths. Wes is friendly and professional, reliable, knowledgeable, fairly priced and has a full mobile service in addition to the shop. Wes has helped me out on two projects and I can only say great things. Wes is the best locksmith we've ever had. He was dealing with a frozen skeleton key lock on our grandfather clock that was a result of the recent mishandling by our movers and we could not open the dial face door. I had called several locksmiths prior to calling Wes and most declined to take it on; furniture locks are tricky and they do not want to deal with marring the furniture. Wes pointed out this risk also but he was willing to try as long as we understood this. He saw the problem right away but couldn't coax that lock free but instead came up with an "out of the box" idea that although labor intensive, well, worked! Terrific service, skill and Wes is a super guy. Rich's Keys and Locks are our locksmith hereon. Oh, I don't want to forget to add that his prices are very reasonable too.Highest Recommendation!

Someone (Wes?)showed up 15 minutes after taking my call. I had locked myself out of my house, he was able to get me in the house in ten minutes. He gave me a great price and was very professional. I would not hesitate to use them again.
