We had Thomaston Oil Come out, and I Paid the Guy $150 Cash, and He said he could Take some Money Off the Bill due it being just A Air Filter that was Dirty. Now they Want Me to Pay A Additional $62.70. Definitely A Horrible Experience, and Don’t Recommend this Company. Might have to Call the BBB too, and let them know what this Company is doing. Not Professional at All. Also the Technician Never Mentioned that I Would be Billed. He Said $150 Cash is Fair due to Him just Diagnosing A Bad Air Filter. They are definitely Not Honest!

Update: the response from the company is not accurate. I did speak with them this morning, they told me the same thing they told me the last two times. My bank told me it was Thomaston's fault. 🤷🏼‍♀️ I'm more inclined to believe the bank I've been with for over a decade vs a company I've done business with for 5 months.
My advice is to make sure you always have an extra $400-500 in your account when they go to fill up the delivery due to their preprocessing practices or just stay away if you're like anyone in this economy struggling and can't have $400-500 missing from your account for a week and a half after delivery.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I will be reporting to the BBB. We have had Thomaston Oil since November 2024. The first delivery there were no issues. Second delivery on 12/17/24, I was overcharged. two payments of $314 were placed on my account totalling $629 when my receipt left stated the total was $581.62 for 184 gallons. I call, I explain, they say they don't understand why this is happening but will ensure it doesn't again.
Next delivery 1/23/25, driver said he couldn't print a receipt to provide totals and would be back with one - one never came. I was charged two payments of $554.89 on 1/23 totalling $1,109 held from my account for a delivery that cost $704. A $405 difference overcharged that again was not fixed for a week. I call again, I say this can't keep happening. They say okay, we will only charge you one time at delivery rather than doing any preprocessing and put it in your file to only charge you the delivery amount after delivery. Okay, I think everything is fixed. NOPE.
2/28 I get 125 gallons for $459 delivered after requesting a full fill. That only filled 5/8ths the tank so i call, I ask what happened and why they left without doing a full fill. They say they don't know, they will get back with me. They call a few hours later saying the delivery guy thought he heard the hiss. Idk how the dude would have heard anything over the extremely loud phone call he was having while delivering the oil. They say they will deliver the rest on 3/3/25. Okay. They do, they deliver another 76 gallons for an additional $281. So $741 total. Cool.
It is 3/11/25. I have THREE charges on my account. First one marked as still processing from 3/5 for $459. Then Two charges on 3/6 for another $459 and the $281 which have both successfully processed. Again, overcharged by over $450!! This is ridiculous, it's affecting my households financial stability without having to dip into savings for the other bills I have. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

Thank you Thomason oil for helping my family on short notice! My furnace was running on fumes but they were able to deliver oil within 24hrs during the coldest weather this season thus far!

Would not recommend doing business with this company. I had an issue with my furnace and they told me they could send some one out that night to fix it. The technician did not know what he was doing and was unable to diagnose the issue. My family and I where left with out heat in the middle of February because I trusted this company. They also refused the refund the service call so I was charged for an emergency service for the technician scratching his head, what a scam!
I call Plymouth oil the next day and they were able to solve the issue immediately will be using them from now on

I give this company one star because I ordered 150 gallons of oil and they filled my tank with 216 gallons... Now I have to pay almost $700 instead of $400. On the request I specific put 150 gallons...Be careful when ordering oil with this company...

THE request said fill up tank, but on the bottom I specified 150 g.... You guys keep saying the same thing and the same thing but you should have called me to confirm the amount. You shouldn't trust what they say, my last time buying from this company.

I rate this establishment a one due to my poor experience. I’m not the type of person to post reviews but the way they handle business is unprofessional and deceiving . I had used them about 3/4 times before my bad experience & they were fine up until then . I had got oil because I was definitely due for some, the guy said after he filled it that it still was not working. Beside them saying someone at my home told them the transformer had blew when they arrived (which I know is a lie because we know nothing about any transformers or anything) I had to pay 175 just for someone to come diagnose the problem & they came found the issue supposedly & “override” the issue for the night and would come back next day with the right part to “fix” the issue. Mind you when they override it it worked fine that whole night , the next day someone came to fix the part they said that was broken and after he left my heat worked fine on the third floor but the second floor was not working at all so I called them to check considering nothing should be wrong they just “fixed” it and even before they fixed it with the override it worked FINE. they say someone will come look never mentioned a price or anything he comes and looks ,fixes it and then as he leaves I asked how much to which he tells me an estimate price because he doesn’t have his laptop. I tell this man I don’t have any extra money after paying them to fill the oil and fix the first issue. I told him I am selling my house and asked if I can pay him on my closing date 12/14 he said it would be fine & they would call Monday with exact amount. They call me Monday I explain he said I can pay on the closing date to which the women said no they can’t do that because it’s a month away , I tell her okay that’s fine but asked if I can pay in two weeks when I get paid again because my mortgage and car insurance were due she said that was fine , now here it is a few days later and they took the payment unauthorized from my card . & now my car insurance will be late . This company is filled with liars and very deceiving people. There is plenty of family friendly oil companies willing to work with you, do your research before choosing thomaston oil.

Called to get a replacement for the 6ft 3/8" gas line that connects to my grill after my dog decided to chew through it. Figured I would call a local company to fix the issue. Got an appointment and waited 2 weeks. The tech showed up and explained it would just be parts and labor and then left to get the part (keep in mind that I had communicated was needed when I set up this appointment), returned 45 min later and installed the part in less than 5 min. Then had the nerve to charge me 335 dollars claiming there was a 'diagnostic' fee (really hard to figure that out AND this was originally communicated), a minimum time charge for the service visit despite it taking 5 minutes and 0 skill to connect, and 100+ dollars for a 65 dollar part (as listed on FW Webbs own website where the tech had to drive to get pick it up instead of coming prepared and saving everyone time). Decided to call and speak with the service manager who refused to budge and stood by the ridiculous charges justifying them as the cost of doing business. It was only after threatening to dispute the charge did he even offer anything... $50 off a furnace cleaning... LOL. Finally I said come take the part back and refund me. The same tech showed up less than 15 minutes later to disconnect the hose... all for an incredibly simple issue that could have been solved in far less time for all parties involved. Further, not only were the charges not communicated up front, but they are wildly out of proportion with reality, they are dishonest and unfair to the customer. That is not the mark of a company I want to do business with and nor should one anyone else.

DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND SWITCH TO Barrett Family Oil! The owner there is great and he admitted refusal to raise prices like Thomaston oil did during the hardship of covid and the economy being so screwed up. I wish I could give negative stars for this company's shady dealings. My family moved in with my FIL (father in law) when he was battling cancer and he passed. Apparently he had a contract that Thomaston oil would come and auto fill the tank that we were UNAWARE OF. So they come in the middle of day when no one is here so we are not even aware we are receiving oil - no bill found / no way for us to know they were here. Now they are currently sending threatening lawyer messages to a dead man that we have 7 days or they are filing suit (mind you ct state law states 30 days notice of intention to file suit) AND since he has passed they want the money from us because we lived here even though it is not our debt and not our contract and we were not aware of the delivery / debt as we NEVER USED THOMASTON OIL and clearly never will after this. and forcing us to pay for their error. Mind you I refuse all certified letters to my FIL bc I refuse to sign for a dead man. Also per CT state law it states that debt collectors have 2 years from the date of death as published in the paper to bring suit / collect the debt and my FIL has been gone well over 2 years by now. Screw this company taking advantage of peoples loved ones after they pass.
